QUESTIONS: RFP Comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Plan (CEDSP)
Questions Answers

The RFP includes the language, “make recommendations on marketing practices/tools, brand development and programs.” We are assuming that these recommendations would be preliminary in nature and would not involve, within the scope of this project, the participation of a branding expert. Is this assumption correct?

The Frisco EDC is very happy with our brand and are primarily concerned with the communication of the brand to our target audiences. The hope is that the consultant would be able to review our current marketing initiatives and suggest improvements for the desired results identified through the planning process.   We would also like to bench mark our efforts to those of our competitors locally, nationally and internationally.
Although the RFP refers to a four-month project, the RFP calendar indicates that the timing to submit a draft document is about 2-1/2 months from notice to proceed. This would seem to be a fairly compressed timeframe for a project with the scope of work specified in the RFP, particularly one which involves stakeholder outreach. Please elaborate on the extent to which this timeframe is crucial to the project, and how this schedule should be interpreted by the responding consultants in terms of the overall level of effort implied in the RFP.

Efficiency is very important as the selected vendor works with the FEDC to create a forward-looking strategic plan. While some flexibility can be given for the timeline of the deliverables during the process, the desired goal is the have the final report and strategic plan presented to the FEDC Board of Directors before the holiday season.  Prompt, but thorough work will be expected, so please indicate in your response any adjustments you feel need to be made to the timeline to successfully achieve our desired results.
