Frisco ISD Inspires Future Entrepreneurs in New Partnership with LaunchPad City & 1 Million Cups

Frisco ISD Inspires Future Entrepreneurs in New Partnership with LaunchPad City & 1 Million Cups

Frisco ISD may well be on its way to building an entire generation of entrepreneurs. A new partnership among FISD, LaunchPad City and its affiliate, 1 Million Cups, is bringing real-world entrepreneurship experience to high school classrooms.

LaunchPad City, a local coworking space and business incubator, hosts weekly 1 Million Cups events, where entrepreneurs meet to pitch their startup businesses and get feedback from their peers. The new FISD partnership brings these 1 Million Cups events into the classroom via live web stream, allowing students to participate without leaving campus.

“What better opportunity to craft your passion and hone in on your skills and goals than learning from others in the very arena in which you wish to be,” says Allison Miller, director of the Frisco ISD Partners in Education program.

Kedreon Cole, director of partnerships and business development for LaunchPad City adds, “It's important to engage students at an early age because entrepreneurial thinking, a unique way of analyzing risk and opportunity, is becoming more important for professionals.”

This new partnership cements the fact that in Frisco, entrepreneurship is indeed for everyone.
